Hi, my name is Sara J. Griffin

YOUR WEDDING, PORTRAIT, AND BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHER

Originally from the Upper Midwest and now based in Phoenix, AZ, I’m a natural Documentress, Storyteller, and Hopeless Romantic. Capturing events—especially weddings—comes instinctively, strengthened by formal training as a wedding photographer. My artistic side inspires creative concepts for all kinds of shoots. Every image is thoughtfully hand-crafted, receiving individual attention and artistic refinement in the editing process.
Some of my photography has been published in international magazines.

Timeless Style

Photography can be poetic. Careful considerations of moods are conveyed through lighting, expression, and editing. Visually capturing and describing narratives, stirring imaginations, and preserving the beauty and emotions of a moment that speak to your soul—these are all elements that make storytelling fun, romantic, and special. Creating never goes out of style. I enjoy co-creating with all whom I photograph. I value high quality images that capture the true essence of characters and moments. I guide posing of people and like to utilize various angles and elements. I also really enjoy capturing the random candid moments, where people are totally free and natural, doing what they do. Most often I strive for something like a cinematic quality: as if it was taken from a movie scene or boujee magazine.

While editing digital photographs, I like to boost a smooth and dreamy quality, especially in wedding photography. When shooting in film, what you get IS that wonderful film quality; and it must be executed with absolute precision. There is no digital editing that can compare to that.

No matter what, I value expressions and having fun with the process. I like whoever I'm photographing to be at ease, enjoy it, and be part of that process too.

Decades of Experience

Yes! I have enjoyed photographing since a very young age. I went on and achieved a Bachelor's of Fine Arts, majoring in Photography at a time when film was still IT, and digital was up and coming. Shortly after graduating in the early 2000s, I learned traditional wedding photography techniques, posing, and "must haves". I shot for an agency with FILM. Later I transitioned to digital while Freelancing; but of course, still have the film skills engrained and can offer that too.
