How much does it cost?
Since every client has a unique set of needs, there is no blanket answer to this question! We must set up a consultation in order to assess your specific needs and address any pertinent questions. A wedding or large scale event like that can cost as much as $5,000-6,000 (or more or less, depending on a number of variables). Smaller scale events, engagements, elopements, and editorial portrait sessions may cost about $1,200 (or more or less, depending on variables). Professional headshots range $200-$500, depending on the package you choose.
What do I get by booking with you?
You get a hopeless romantic and true artist with education and years of experience. You (and your guests) get to relax and get a professional who knows what they are doing, has a developed eye, and uses real camera equipment. You get someone who strives to understand you, values you, and works with you so that there is a natural flow and you feel good throughout the entire process. You get a caring, compassionate, sensitive person who wants you to feel comfortable and have fun while co-creating fabulous photos. You get a very passionate person who devotes a lot of attention, time, effort, energy, expertise, and care into crafting all of your images to make you look your very best (and like you just stepped out of a movie or magazine)! You get a natural storyteller who knows how to put it together into a beautiful flow and thoughtfully presents it. You get to see yourself like you never have before. You get freedom to really let yourself shine and be yourself!
How long is the photo shoot?
A wedding is typically an all day event (but can range 3-10 hours). A consultation is required to nail down specific needs. Smaller scale events and some editorial portrait sessions typically range 2-3 hours or so. The average professional headshot session takes 20-45 minutes (plus set up/tear down time).
How long does it take to get my photos after the shoot?
It depends on how extensive the project is. Weddings and full coverage of large scale events like that can take up to 6-8 weeks. Smaller scale events and editorial portrait sessions can take up to 4-5 weeks. Something simple like headshots can take up to 2-3 weeks. Of course, we strive to deliver as soon as possible!
What is required to secure my date?
Please sign and return the contract and make the down payment. Once we confirm that everything is received and in good standing, our agreed shoot date is secured.
Do you offer a second shooter?
YES! Absolutely, it is preferred to have a second shooter for weddings and large scale events. Please note that there will be an extra fee but it's totally worth it!
How would you describe your photography style?
When it comes to weddings and couples, my style is: classic, romantic, smooth, luminous, dreamy, intimate, and fun! We aim to capture the natural flow of events and details unobtrusively: documenting how things unfold thoughtfully, artfully, and efficiently as possible. We also incorporate guided intimate posing to evoke romance, fun, and whimsy. Portraits can get experimental and take on an edgy, dramatic, and even cinematic appeal.
Do you shoot film?
Yes! As a special request we can shoot film. Since the process and materials are more risky, specialized, and expensive, it will cost a little more, and the wait time for film produced pictures may be a little longer at times. *It's recommended that we always shoot digital in tandem with film.* If you want the ENTIRE wedding/event in film, we HIGHLY recommend a second photographer that is shooting digital (just in case). Otherwise if there are special photos you want just one or two rolls of film shot, that is an option (i.e. special intimate moments with guided poses: see folder "Katie & Brent FILM" in the client area for examples).
How do I get prints?
You can order them right here from this site!
What's the process before booking and after booking?
We typically start with a phone consultation to discuss plans and answer any questions. After booking and securing the date, we touch base again about 6 weeks from the wedding day. Additionally, we may check-in within a week or few days before your event to address any last-minute details that need to be discussed.
How do I receive my photos?
You can download them directly from this site. (We'll provide you with your own client portal link via email. They will be available for one year.)
Will I receive a USB drive?
It is available upon request as an add-on.
Are you willing to travel?
Yes! I am absolutely willing to travel to capture your special day! We can add travel expenses to your package.
When is the best time for portraits?
'
If shooting outdoors, the best time is late afternoon, usually an hour before sunset, which we call the "Golden Hour" - a magical time that can be very romantic. Cloudy days and mornings are wonderful as well, as the lighting is very soft and even, with no harsh shadows.
What happens during the editing process?
Images are sorted through: removing unflattering shots, misfires, blinks, and/or redundant shots, etc. After that, each image is carefully and artistically handcrafted, and pushed to be works of art!
